https://edunity.publikasikupublisher.com/index.php/Edunity/article/view/338

Corrections play a vital role within the integrated justice system, providing a recovery process for law violators. Correctional institutions aim not only to punish but also to rehabilitate and guide offenders toward social reintegration. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of assimilation programs in restoring the lives and livelihoods of prisoners and to explore how correctional institutions implement community-based corrections through these programs. A qualitative research approach was employed, utilizing data from relevant journals and regulations. An empirical legal analysis was conducted to examine the impact of assimilation programs on the rehabilitation of prisoners. The findings indicate that assimilation programs significantly enhance the self-improvement and social reintegration of prisoners. These programs provide essential skills training and community engagement opportunities, which are crucial for reducing recidivism. The study concludes that assimilation programs are effective in facilitating the recovery of prisoners and promoting their reintegration into society. This underscores the need for on-going support and enhancement of such programs within correctional institutions to ensure their success and the safety of the community.
Aziz Imam Hanafi, Zainal Arifin Hoesein

https://edunity.publikasikupublisher.com/index.php/Edunity/article/view/341

The role of Civil Servant Investigators (PPNS) in Indonesia has evolved, particularly
following the Constitutional Court Decision Number 15/PUU-XIX/2021, which
expanded their authority in money laundering investigations. This study aims to
analyze the impact of this decision on the position and authority of PPNS within the
integrated criminal justice system. Using a normative legal approach, the research
employs primary data from the Constitutional Court's ruling and secondary data from
legal literature and relevant media sources. The findings indicate that the Constitutional
Court's decision not only enhances the investigative powers of PPNS but also aligns
them with other law enforcement agencies, such as the National Police and the
Corruption Eradication Commission. Despite this expansion, the study highlights ongoing challenges, particularly the dependency of PPNS on police investigators during
the prosecution process. The relationship between PPNS and other law enforcement
officials is crucial for effective law enforcement and the prevention of money
laundering crimes. The study concludes that the broadened authority of PPNS should
be viewed as a collaborative effort rather than competition, emphasizing the
importance of coordination among agencies to strengthen law enforcement efforts in
Indonesia.
Jetter Wilson Salamony

https://edunity.publikasikupublisher.com/index.php/Edunity/article/view/352

Loneliness is an experience that can have far-reaching effects on individuals, especially adolescents, who are in an important developmental phase. Subjective well-being, which includes positive emotions, life satisfaction, and emotional experiences, is an important indicator in assessing adolescents' mental health. This study aims to explore the role of loneliness in influencing subjective well-being in adolescents. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey design, involving 300 adolescent respondents aged 13-18 years. Data were collected through an online questionnaire consisting of the UCLA Loneliness Scale and Diener's Subjective Well-Being Scale. The results of the analysis show that loneliness has a significant negative influence on subjective well-being, with a coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.314. This shows that 31.4% of the variation in subjective well-being can be explained by the level of loneliness. This study indicates that increased levels of loneliness are associated with decreased subjective well-being in adolescents. The findings provide important insights for the development of interventions aimed at improving adolescents' psychological well-being and reducing feelings of loneliness.
Angelina Angelina, Andiny Shausan, Erik Wijaya

https://edunity.publikasikupublisher.com/index.php/Edunity/article/view/339

Judges play a vital role in upholding justice and public trust within the judicial system. This study examines the importance of the Judges' Code of Ethics in Indonesia, emphasizing its influence on the accountability and integrity of judicial decisions. The primary objectives are to analyze how the code serves as a guideline for judges and to assess its impact on public confidence in the legal system. Utilizing a normative juridical research method, the study relies on both primary and secondary legal materials, including legislative documents and case studies. The research involves a comprehensive literature review and a legislative approach to understand the ethical standards expected of judges in their professional conduct. The findings reveal that adherence to the Judges' Code of Ethics is crucial for maintaining impartiality, avoiding conflicts of interest, and ensuring fair trial processes. Ethical violations can significantly undermine public trust, leading to skepticism regarding judicial impartiality and the effectiveness of the legal system. The study highlights that judges must conduct themselves with integrity, uphold the principles of justice, and avoid any actions that could compromise their role. In conclusion, the Judges' Code of Ethics not only serves as a regulatory framework for judicial behaviour but also acts as a foundation for public confidence in the judiciary. For the legal system to function effectively, it is imperative that judges adhere to these ethical standards, ensuring that their decisions are perceived as fair and just.
Farly Lumopa, Zaenal Arifin

https://edunity.publikasikupublisher.com/index.php/Edunity/article/view/350

Online gender-based violence is a serious problem that negatively impacts victims physically, psychologically and socially. This research aims to analyze the legal protection of victims of cyber-based violence in Indonesia, focusing on existing regulations and their implementation. The method used in this research is a normative research method with a juridical-analytical approach, where data is collected through a literature study of relevant laws and regulations, legal documents, and previous research related to online gender-based violence. The results show that Law No. 12 of 2022 on the Crime of Sexual Violence provides a strong legal basis for victim protection, including the right to assistance, temporary protection, and recovery. In addition, regulations regarding the removal of content involving victims are an important step in reducing further impact. However, this research also found challenges in law enforcement, public awareness, and training of law enforcement officers that need to be strengthened in order for victim protection to be implemented effectively. This research is expected to contribute to improving the understanding and effectiveness of legal protection for victims of online gender-based violence in Indonesia.
Alip Rahman, Anom Sutrisno, Lita Martia, Feri Wangi
